‘and, surely, we’ll never die’
The current body of work Untitled Transmutations is the basis of ‘and, surely, we’ll never die’,
Deborah Anzinger’s forthcoming exhibition. The exhibition’s name references Marcia Griffiths’ 1978 single Dreamland centering
socio-ecological abundance and togetherness. In ‘and, surely, we’ll never die’, the regenerating power of Black female imagination—
conjuring and cultivating livity, collectivity, innerscapes and landscapes of joy and resilience— is in play.
