Current Exhibitions Part and Parcel opens this Saturday, December 10 at The Fridge! An exhibition of work by Project Dispatch artists, this show focuses on the utility of the art subscription service as a means for Project Dispatch artists to create more substantial works. The expression “part and parcel” is used to reference something that must be done or accepted in order to attain something else. The venue to sell works on a small scale affords many artists the opportunity to create larger more involved works. Part and Parcel is an opportunity to showcase large scale works by Project Dispatch artists while emphasizing the importance of the Project Dispatch subscription service. Along with each piece in the exhibtion will be an unknown piece wrapped in brown paper to represent the subscription. Patrons will be able to purchase the larger work or take a risk on the smaller, wrapped piece by the same artist. These smaller works will be the beginnings of subscriptions, but will remain unopened until after they are purchased. Featured artists are: Frank Adams, Keli Anaya, Deborah Anzinger, Chris Chen, Rachel England, Jessica Ford, Elizabeth Graeber, Becca Kallem, Chandi Kelley, Regan Kireilis-Helms, Stephanie Kwak, Jon Lee, Dana Maier, and Kristoffer Tripplaar The Fridge, 516 8th Street SE, REAR ALLEY
![]() The New Beginnings exhibition runs at George Mason University untitil December 18. The opening of this group show curated by Lisa McCarty marked the inauguration of the Arts Administration building at the new George Mason University campus in Arlington, VA. The show continues until December 18. “New Beginnings is an exhibition featuring D.C. and Virginia based artists who have embarked on projects that break new ground within their own particular working methods or attempts to alter their trajectory as artists. Deborah Carroll Anzinger, Reuben Breslar, Treva Elwood, M. Gert Barkovic and Jenny Walton will all exhibit new work that they hope will lead them to a new beginnings within their practices. Some shifts are conceptual, others material, but each work is a conscious attempt to change course, either out of necessity or shear curiosity.” Founders Hall, George Mason University
